in the Studio Theatre
adapted by Carol Ann Duffy & dramatised by Tim Supple
NVT Youth production - designed and directed by Nick Beeby
Fairy tales nowadays have largely become sanitised and sugary. This marvellously black adaptation of some of the Brothers Grimm’s most famous stories returns to the original intention – grim!
The New Venture Theatre’s Youth Theatre production aims to captivate and entice, converting the studio into a woodland clearing where you will be surrounded by who knows what kinds of danger and enchantment!
This is a truly ensemble production, full of magical animals, mangy peasants and majestic royalty. Happy endings cannot be guaranteed and indeed we cannot even be sure you will be spared any blood and gore!
